Action Planning
|
||||
|
Goal:
To
prove that an isolated and firmly monitored lunch detention reduces the
overall number of students assigned to detention, the number of repeat
assignments to detention, and the unwanted behaviors in classrooms and
hallways.

I think your action research is very detailed and complete, i don't see anything missing. Good idea to take something from kids like their time, instead of instructional time.
ReplyDeleteRaymond,
ReplyDeleteYour action research plan looks very detailed. I was able to follow your plan very clearly. I have no questions. Great job!
Good luck. I know lunch detention can be tricky. Your plan looks very developed.
ReplyDeleteI like this action research plan. We have an incident in our intermediate campus that they have a lunch detention as well. I am looking forward in your research.
ReplyDeleteWe had a great lunch detention at my old school. The students reported to lunch detention first and then were escorted through to lunch after the other students had gotten their lunches. When there were too many in lunch detention the kids were given sack lunches. No outside food was allowed during lunch detention. If student did not report directly to lunch detention there were further consequences. The whole program was made better because the administrator over lunch detention gave it TEETH. I believe that will, be the key to most of our projects that deal with curving behaviors. The support need to be there to consistently send the right message.
ReplyDeleteby the way love the topic, the plan is well written. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a worthy research project. It will be a challenge in that it is being done at the end of the year. I wonder if you will need more time to get the data and change in the behavior of the students that you are anticipating.
